Song Farm was founded in 2010 by Hilde Wahl and Jørn Dalchow who for many years has been part of the Norwegian music industry. The aim of Song Farm is to establish events and venues where Norwegian and international songwriters can meet, write new songs, build networks and get new knowledge.
Hilde Wahl – Bisi Music
It was in the early years of the millennium that Hilde attended Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts. Focusing on songwriting, music for Film & TV, professional artist development and music business – she graduated first with honors and was running Liverpool hip hop label Domestic Music at the same time, giving her the Millennium Fellowship from Liverpool Council for her Youth hiphop music project, Domestic Soldiers. As time passed, she went on to win such acclamations as best United Kingdom Songwriter 2002 (Urban), Sennheiser Dance Act of the year and other awards.
In Norway, Hilde has been on the Board of Music Export Norway, Arts Council Norway (kulturrådet) and had a long career with the music interest organization Gramart, representing nearly 4,000 Norwegian singers, songwriters, and musicians. It was in 2012 that Hilde established BISI Records Management and Talent Agency.
Jørn Dalchow – daWorks Music Publishing
Jørn has long experience from the Norwegian music business, 13 of them in Norway’s largest record company PolyGram/Universal Music as product manager, product developer, marketing manager and A&R manager. He started his record company career back in 1986, in 1987 he joined PolyGram, 2000 he founded the independent compnay daWorks Records and in 2008 daWorks Music Publsihing. Jørn is also a graphic designer and has designed more than 400 albums and 600 singles covers. In 1991 he established Norway’s first national Radio airplay chart, Radio Topp 30, together with David Fishel. Early 2004 Jørn published the how to/reference-book on the Norwegian music industry, “Help, I’m in the pop business!”. He is also a much used music business lecturer and an active member of various boards in the music industry.
